New NDE Para in Canvas - Admin Role question response

The NDE Project Para system was designed to reduce the amount of the administrator’s time in the software. The Paraprofessional may use the Canvas course as a self-service experience. The Para is able to register, work through the course modules and obtain a certificate when the required modules are completed. There isn't approval needed to register.  The assessments in the courses have unlimited retakes.  The Para will receive a certificate by email after passing the required modules and/or be able to access the cert in Canvas and then share that with their supervisor as needed.  The districts and paras are encouraged to keep copies of these certificates.  These are HR documents that should go in the permanent files of the employees who earned them.

The course content is the same, except it has been split into 3 courses depending on the certificate they are working toward (Early Childhood, Special Education, and Title I). NDE is interested in updating the content. The current goal would be to roll that out next summer and/or in parallel with the current course so people who have already signed up can complete what they started.

The certificates and completion date & time are all kept in Canvas, so one of our team could retrieve any lost or unsent certificates, but we don't have another way to give access directly so far.

Below are some links to the tutorials for the new Para system. Once you have registered, there is a bulk "purchase" on the enrollments is an option if you want to invite the paras yourself. The other process would have them each register themselves. The individuals would need to confirm the registration and set their password in either option. 

Your current sign in for the old system: https://para.myesu.org/ will not work on NDE's new Canvas only training site. You can sign into the old system using the same username and password that you've always used. If your password needs to be reset there is a password reset link on the Sign In page.
