Spanish or other language translation

Unfortunately, there's no way to translate forms on SRS at this time.  With the variations of dialects, this is not possible.  Some districts have used a google translate and pasted the translation in the forms along with the English.  When translating to share with the parent, you may also want to include the question/block information in the translation.

It is each district's responsibility to make accommodations to ensure parents understand procedures and decisions of the IEP team.

Section 007.06E of Rule 51 states:

"The school district or approved cooperative shall take whatever action is necessary to ensure that the parent understands the proceedings of an IEP conference, including arranging for an interpreter for parents who are deaf or whose native language is other than English."

If arranging an interpreter is not feasible at this time, "whatever action is necessary to ensure the parent understands..." can be as simple as having the family invite family or friends to attend as an informal interpreter.
